Ministries, divisions alerted against cyber-attacks by Indian hackers

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has alerted all the provinces, ministries and divisions against the cyber-attacks by Indian hackers to steal sensitive information by using official documents, on Wednesday.

According to official sources, the APT Group gets access to data through 120 fake mobile applications and steals information using 21 official documents.

The provinces, ministries and divisions were directed to update their mobile and computer systems. They were also directed to use separate and complex passwords for mobile and mailing accounts.

“The hackers aim to target sensitive institutions, foreign ministries, embassies, etc.” the federal government’s advisory said.

“The APT Group tries to access data through websites, fake emails and mobile applications. Such cyber espionage groups work for the Indian intelligence agency,” it added.
