Mitsubishi to expand investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Mitsubishi Corporation is desired to further expand investment in coal based power projects, water and sewage management in Pakistan.

This was expressed by Chairman, Mitsubishi Corporation Ken Kobayashi while talking to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Prime Minister appreciated Mitsubishi Corporations’ diverse investment in Pakistan especially in local manufacturing of heavy machinery.

He apprised the Chairman Mitsubishi that Pakistan has achieved significant economic stability and has achieved the higher foreign reserves, contained inflation and undertook mega energy projects to address the energy issue faced by the county.

The Chairman, Mitsubishi Corporation thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s support to the Corporation’s operations in Pakistan.

Talking to CEO of Japan External Trade Organisation Hiroyuki Ishige, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Pakistan’s goal is to engage with all of Asian countries in its economic activity and Japan is among its top partner.

He appreciated JETRO’s consistent support to Pakistan for trade and investment. He emphasized that Prime Minister Abbasi apprised the CEO JETRO that in last few years Pakistan has made tremendous achievements towards political stability, improved law and order situation, energy security, and economic growth that have been acknowledged by renowned international rating agencies.

CEO JETRO acknowledged Pakistan’s economic growth and expressed the hope for continued cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
