MMA to defend country from threats: Durrani

TIMERGARA: Former Chief Minister and Federal Minister for Housing Akram Khan Durrani on Sunday said the revival of Mutahida Majlas e Amal (MMA), a coalition of religious parties was aimed at defending the country of internal and external threats.

He stated this while addressing a gathering at Banrgi Talash after condoling on the death of father of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister for finance Muzafar Syed. The JUI-F provincial chief and former senator Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, KP finance minister Muzafar Syed, Lower Dir sports officer Bahadar Syed, Timergara tehsil nazim Riaz Muhammad, activists of the JUI-F and JI were present on the occasion.

Mr Durrani said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa trusted the leadership of MMA as it had initiated mega development projects during its previous tenure. He said the MMA was fully enacted and it would form government in KP and Baluchistan. He said the MMA had succeeded in generating 80 mega watt of electricity in the province. He paid tributes to leaders of religious parties for reviving the MMA and asked workers of the coalition partners to shun their petty differences and work collectively for success of the alliance.

Criticizing the PTI leadership he said it had introduced the culture of disgrace, immaturity and vulgarity. The former chief minister alleged the PTI wanted powers at the center and Punjab.

He also offered fateha on the death of father and mother of vice chancellor, University of Malakand Prof Dr Gul Zaman and prayed for the departed souls.
