MNA Safdar challenges indictment in IHC

ISLAMABAD: MNA Captain (Rtd) Safdar challenged imminent indictment in a corroption reference, in the Islamabad High Court on Thursday.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s, Son in law approached the IHC through his counsel and filed a petition in this regard and requesting to stop the accountability court indictment on October 13 (tomorrow).

He stated in petition that as per the law seven days to be allowed before the indictment of any person in the court.

Nawaz, his daughter Maryam, and son-in-law MNA Capt (retd) Safdar are expected to be indicted by the accountability court hearing corruption cases against them on Friday and in the hearing, on October 9, the accountability court approved the bail of Maryam and Safdar after they managed to appear before the court.

The accountability court also approved the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) appeal to declare Nawaz’s sons, Hasan and Hussain, proclaimed offenders.
