Modi wants war with Pakistan to win elections in India: Sarwar

LAHORE: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants war with Pakistan to win the election in his country, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar here said on Tuesday.

“Our relations with India always remain tense,” Governor Sarwar said while addressing a gathering in Lahore.

“Imran Khan’s vision and his appropriate steps have changed the circumstance and defeated Narendra Modi,” Chaudhry Sarwar said. The Indian prime minister wants to win elections with engaging Pakistan in a war, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said.

India has suffered defeat at diplomatic, political spheres and at borders, he said.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said, ” We have to bring revolution for cultivators for the sake of development in the country, adding that the agriculturists being provided best facilities across the border.

“We didn’t abuse the institutions and always respected decisions of courts,” Chaudhry Sarwar said

Talking about the exit control list (ECL), the governor said only the federal cabinet decides a matter related to the ECL. “It is not the job of a governor to remove a name from the ECL.”

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said Pakistan’s GS-Plus agreement with the European Union brought 15 billion dollars’ benefit to the country.

Talking on the textile industry, the governor said that the gas tariff has been brought to half for the industry and hoped that now the closed textile units will also start working.
