Mohsin Naqvi appointed chairman of PCB management committee

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has been appointed as Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.

Mohsin Naqvi has also been nominated for the PCB Governing Board, replacing Zaka Ashraf.

Following Ashraf’s resignation, Naqvi was nominated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan as the Patron-in-Chief of the PCB. The decision to hold elections for the PCB has also been made within the next two weeks.

Naqvi — a media channel owner, who has been serving as the interim chief minister for a year — also confirmed his appointment while speaking to reporters in Lahore soon after the news broke out.

“I will try to fix the issues affecting Pakistan cricket. Reforms in cricket are the need of the hour,” Naqvi said.

On January 19, Zaka Ashraf resigned from the position of Chairman of the PCB Management Committee and as a member of the Board of Governors.
