ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Science & Technology through Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) mentioned in its official documents submitted in the parliament added that the engineering program in 21 different colleges and universities across the country are unaccredited and degree of these institutes are fake the documents available with Frontier Post mentioned.
The Ministry of Science and Technology on a question raised by the member of the parliament regarding fake degrees in engineering discipline across the country was responded by the ministry and mentioned that the PEC already banned 21 colleges and universities across the country since 2013 and the degrees obtained from these educational institutes are fake.
The documents mentioned that Ata Institute of Science and Technology Wazirabad which are affiliated with the University of Engineering, (UET) Lahore electrical engineering program is fake and their program has been closed by Fall-2017.
The documents further mentioned that Intellectual Unique Superior Entrepreneurial School which is offering degrees in Electrical and Software engineering are fake and degrees awarded by these institutes will not be acceptable being fake.
The information further added that Times School of Engineering Multan (Affiliated GC University Lahore) and their degree in Electrical engineering is fake as their program being suspended in 2016. College of Engineering and Emerging Technologies Lahore engineering program in Metallurgy & Material Engineering degrees are fake and their degree program suspended in 2014.
The documents added university college of Engineering and Technology Sargodha degrees in electrical and civil engineering and Fatima Jinnah women university electronics engineering program are being considered fake and degree related to both institute are not eligible. The ministry while adding other programs of different colleges and universities added that NFC Institute of engineering and technology degree in Gas & Petroleum’s, Grand Chartered College of Engineering and technology degree in electrical engineering, Punjab institute of contemporary science Chemical engineering programs are suspended by the PEC and degree related to these institutes are fake.
University of Engineering & Technology Lahore (Narowal campus) degrees in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical engineering and University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (KSK) Campus bio medical engineering programs are also suspended by the PEC and their degrees are fake. The ministry added further regarding Sindh province and added that Plastic Technology Center Karachi (Hamdard University Karachi) degree in Polymer and Synthetic Fiber Development and Application Center Karachi degree in Textile Engineering are fake and suspended by the PEC.
The documents added that National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Islamabad and Pakistan Navy engineering college Karachi degrees in Industrial and Manufacturing engineering are also fake and suspended by the PEC. Documents added that Institute of Business Management (IBM) Karachi program Industrial Engineering and management and Quaid-e-Awam University College of engineering science and Technology, Larkana engineering program in Mechanical, electrical and electronics Engineering programs are fake and suspended by the Engineering council. The documents added that University of Azad Jamu & Kashmir Muzaffarabad degree in Software engineering, Muslim Youth UniversityIslamabad, civil and electrical engineering programs as well the University of Lahore (Islamabad Campus) Mechanical and electrical engineering programs, Center of Emerging Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Islamabad, degrees in electrical, electronics and Telecommunication engineering program and Karakoram International University Gilgit engineering program in mining programs are also suspended by the Pakistan Engineering Council and degree related to all these institutes are fake.
