MQM-P chief demands Arshad Vohra’s disqualification from ECP

KARACHI: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Farooq Sattar demanded from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to disqualify Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra from holding the public office.

Sattar writes a letter to the ECP chief and said that Vohra’s joined Pak Sarzameen Party and it is a clear violation of the constitution and for this ground he should be immediately disqualified and a by-election should be called on his seat.

MQM-P demanded immediate issuance of notification to disqualify Arshad Vohra. Sattar also mentioned in his letter to the ECP that party held a consultative meeting on November 3 in which the party gave him the authority to take legal action against Arshad Vohra.

Arshad Vohra announced to join PSP on October 29 and in a press conference he said that he will resign from the post of deputy mayor after completing all the legal formalities.
