MQM-P demands chairmanship of two standing committees in NA

KARACHI A three-member delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) met President Arif Alvi in Karachi.

Amir Khan, Faisal Sabzwari and Kanwar Naveed Jameel called on the president. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail was also present on the occasion.

Undergoing development projects, working relationship with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and several other matters were discussed during the meeting.

President and Governor assured MQM-P delegation of removing their reservations. Sources have revealed that MQM-P members have demanded chairmanship of two standing committees IN National Assembly.

Discussion was also held over the written agreement between both the parties.

It was said in the meeting that MQM-P will attend the meetings of standing committees once their reservations have been eliminated.

Sindh CM calls on President

The President also met Sindh Chief Minister Murad Alo Shah and assured that the federal government’s ongoing projects in the province would be completed at the earliest.

Maters of mutual interest, current political situation and ongoing development projects in Karachi came under discussion during the meeting.

The President and the Sindh Chief Minister agreed to further improve working relation and mutual cooperation between the federal and provincial government.

CPLC meeting

President Dr Arif Alvi also chaired a meeting on Community Police liaison Committee (CPLC) and said that peace brings investment and will be increased in peaceful Karachi.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, CPLC Chief Zubair Habib and officials concerned attended the meeting. President also visited the Reporting center of the CPLC on the occasion.

Dr Arif Alvi directed that scope of CPLC be extended to other districts of Sindh province and to install CCTV cameras at police stations.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said on the occasion that CPLC also work against harassment against women and controlling narcotics.

CPLC Chief Zuibair Habib briefing the President on the performance of the organization said that crime rate has substantially been decreased in Karachi city.

He said CPLC offices are also being established in Hyderabad and jamshoro.
