Mufti Qavi on four-day physical remand

MULTAN: Controversial cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi was hand-cuffed after he took to heels in Qandeel Baloch murder case.

The cleric was presented before District & Sessions court in Multan where judicial magistrate granted his four-day physical remand and sent him into police custody.

Mufti Qavi fled to Jhang after his bail plea was dismissed by the court tomorrow; however, he was apprehended by police on highway.

Mufti Qavi was fleeing to Muzaffargarh when he was arrested on the Highway, informed official sources from SP Cantt Dr Fahad Mukthar.

Earlier, defence and prosecution counsels argued on the case but District and Sessions judge Ameer Muhammad Khan denied the bail application and directed action against the suspect under sections 302 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Non-bailable arrest warrants were issued for Mufti Abdul Qavi in Qandeel Baloch murder case.
