Mullah Baradar signs several MOUs with Iran

KABUL (TOLOnews): Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy PM for economic affairs, who returned to Kabul on Friday, announced the signing of several memorandums of understanding with government officials and the private sector of Iran.
Baradar told reporters at the Kabul International Airport that the signing of these memorandums is a great achievement for the two countries, which can provide better business opportunities between Tehran and Kabul.
“We signed several memorandums of understanding with government officials and the private sector, which, if Allah willing, will be a great achievement for Iran and Afghanistan,” said Baradar.
Baradar said that in the meeting with Iranian officials, there was also a discussion on creating a suitable route for the export of Afghan goods to Iran and other countries in the region.
Meanwhile, the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, said that in their meetings with Iranian authorities, there has been a discussion on creating facilities for businessmen and solving challenges in the country’s ports.
Azizi said that starting tomorrow, merchants will be able to transfer their goods to Iran and other countries in the region through Chahbahar. “It was promised that we could start importing and exporting through Chabahar port from tomorrow,” said Nooruddin Azizi
The memorandums signed between the officials of Tehran and Kabul include the meetings of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation, the meeting of the Joint Committee on International Road Transport Cooperation, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran Aviation Administration, the Cooperation Document between Isfahan Iron and Steel Company and the Islamic Emirate, and the Cooperation Document between Free Zones.
