Mullah Musamim among six killed in operations

HERAT CITY: The Afghan security forces killed six Taliban militants during the operations in Farah and Herat provinces.

The 207th Zafar Corps in a statement said the soldiers of the 2nd Brigade conducted an operation in Posht-e-Rod district and killed 3 Taliban militants.

The statement further added that the security forces also killed a prominent Taliban commander Mullah Musamim during the operation.

The 207th Zafar Corps also added that the security forces wounded 7 Taliban militants during the operation. The security forces also destroyed a mortar launcher belonging to Taliban militants.

Meanwhile, a clash broke out between security forces and Taliban militants in Pashtun Zarghoon district of Herat province. The security forces killed 3 Taliban militants during the clash.

The 207th Zafar Corps also added that the security forces also wounded two Taliban militants during the clash and discovered and destroyed an explosives depot of the militants.

The Taliban militants have not commented regarding the operations so far. (Khaama Press)
