Multan Sultans defeat Peshawar Zalmi by 19 runs

DUBAI: Multan Sultan defeated the defending champion Peshawar Zalmi by 19 runs on Tuesday night at Dubai stadium in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to field first however the decision was good for their bowlers as the top order batsman Sohaib Maqsood played a blind innings by scoring 85 runs on just 42 balls, Maqsood hit four boundaries and seven sixes helped Sultans to set a good total of 183 runs on board.

In reply Peshawar Zalmi captain, Muhammad Hafeez showed some resistance and played a 56 run knock for Zalmi but apart from him none of other player has a reply for the Multan bowlers and dismissed cheaply.

Kieron Pollard and Sohail Tanvir took three wickets each, while Muhammad Irfan took two.

By the end of the match Multan Sultan won the match by 19 runs.
