Muqam son is arrested on baseless allegations: Sabir

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader and former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pir Sabir Shah alleged that the efforts were being made to use state institution initially against their top leadership and now the son of Amir Muqam had been victimized on the behest of Minister of Communication Murad Saeed. He said that such acts were highly deplorable and it was against the true spirit of political will.

He was addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) here on Wednesday. He said that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took action in the directives of the federal minister against the son of Ameer Muqam which was the mockery of law and was only the political victimization.

He blamed that Amir Muqam son was arrested on Baseless allegations and it was first time in the political history of Pakistan that someone had been arrested over the written orders of a setting minister. He said that new tradition of taking revenge on political basis would be destruction for the institution and it would bring the country on the verge of annihilation.

He added that instead of serving the masses which was the sole responsibility of the PTI government but unfortunately it was busy by taking revenge from the opponent political parties by registering fake and baseless cases against them.    

He also criticized the government over the appointment of dual nationality holder and an official of IMF as Governor State Bank of Pakistan, which he said apparently indicated that the incumbent government had made the country slave of IMF.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is towing the line of former president Pervez Musharraf by appointment of IMF employees on important positions in the country, which was not in best interest of Pakistan and its people.

He furthermore maintained that the appointment of IMF employee on the highest position as Governor SBP is reflecting that Pakistan has completely handed over to IMF.

Sabir Shah said that government is taking dictation from IMF, which was main reason of devaluating of Pakistan currency, pushing up the prices of essential food commodities, and country being confronted with financial crunch.

He said that those claiming of breaking begging bowl have made nation a beggar, while referring to PTI chairman and Prime Minister Imran Khan ‘pre-elections’ promises. He added that PTI had made life of common man miserable instead of providing any relief to them.

PML-N leader criticized that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government is incapable of managing the country and stabilizing its faltering economy.

The party leader said that the dedicated people had rendered numerous hardships, which has no precedent.

He said that inflation-hit masses would take to streets against the PTI government and will stage endless protest in the country.
