ISLAMABAD: The federal govt has appointed Maqbool Ahmad Gondal (BS-22) as Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) under Article 168 (1) of the Constitution,.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division on Saturday, Gondal, a senior officer of the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service, will serve in the position for a term of four years.
Before this appointment, he was serving as the Controller General of Accounts.
As Auditor General of Pakistan, Gondal will be responsible for overseeing the auditing of public sector accounts and ensuring financial accountability across federal and provincial government departments.
The appointment follows the completion of the tenure of the incumbent AGP Muhammad Ajmal Gondal. The AGP is the constitutional position and holds vast powers to scrutinise all expenditures of the government.
