LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas announced on Tuesday to approach the relevant state institutions to seek action against former education minister and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Mashood over alleged financial irregularities.

Speaking to ARY News, he said he would approach the corruption watchdog after gathering evidence of corruption against the PML-N leader.

Lashing out at Mashood, he said the former minister indulged in massive corruption in the department during the previous government’s term. “I have been gathering evidence of misappropriation by Rana Mashood after which I would approach state institutions.”

He also accused the PML-N leader of using government vehicles for personal purposes during his stint as minister.

In Dec, Murad Raas had ordered an inquiry against Pirmahal deputy district education officer Farooq Zahid over corruption charges.

He directed the chief executive officer of the district education authority, Syed Tauqeer Hussain, to complete the inquiry within three days and submit the report.

Raheel Gujjar had submitted a complaint to the minister when he had visited Toba during last week.
