Murtaza flays IG for making remarks in his speech

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab Tuesday criticized Dr. Kaleem Imam – the provincial IG – and said a government employee should not give such remarks.

The PPP leader said in his statement that the provincial government is not satisfied with the IG’s performance and he should not make speeches like he did today. Murtaza Wahab said Prime Minister Imran Khan had on Monday ensured that the IG will be replaced within 24 hours.

It is the federal government’s privilege to appoint him wherever it wants, he added. Let it be known that Kaleem Imam, while reacting to certain speculations that he has been transferred from his post, said today that he “won’t leave that easily and he has not yet been transferred.”

“A (false) impression is being given that I have been transferred even if I am transferred, I am worth my weight in gold,” he said while addressing a ceremony in Karachi.

“A big plot was built against me.

“This ceremony is being considered as my farewell ceremony. It seems like Sindh police are trying to save its budget,” he added.

Later, Dr Kaleem contradicted himself and gave clarification on his remarks that his comments were presented wrongly on the media.
