LANDI KOTAL: Islamabad base journalists led by speaker provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mushtaq Ghani paid a day long visit to Landi Kotal and examined Torkham border here on Sunday.
Flanked by more than a dozen from Islamabad, member provincial assembly from Bara Shafiq Afridi, minority member assembly Wilson Wazir were received by the administration officals and local Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI)leaders in forces officers mess.
Later on the visiting guests examined the Michni check post and visited the Pak-Afghan sharing border, Torkham where the assistant commissioner, Landi Kotal briefed them.
Talking to the local media persons speaker Mushtaq Ghani said that after merging of the ex-tribal region, the facilities enjoyed by the down towns would be provided to the residents of the merged districts.
“Peace has been restored in the area with unmatched sacrifices, rendered by the forces he said and adding the calm environment will attract visitors to witness the Khyber Pass”, he maintained. He assured that the local journalists would be facilitated at their door steps so that they could execute their duties with proficiently.
The visiting guests fascinated by the spectacular views of Khyber Pass and they applauded the natural and historical beauty of the Pass. A female media person Shazia said who for the first time visited the Khyber Pass expressed her delight and said she really enjoyed the trip where she watched the historical sites, she had read.
