Muslim rulers considered Al-Aqsa mosque as own issue: Sirajul Haq

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The statement of the US Secretary of State that the US had consulted twelve Muslim states before declaring Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, should be an eye opener for the Muslim Ummah, Jamaat e Islami Ameer Senator Siraju Haq, said on Thursday.

He was speaking at the Students festival organized by the Islami Jamiat e Talaba at Peshawar University.

Sirajul Haq said had the Muslim rulers considered Al-Aqsa mosque as their own issue, Al-Aqsa would not have been at the mercy of the enemy now. He said that the Al- Aqsa mosque was looking for some Salahud Din Ayubi or Mehmud Ghaznvi.

He said the JI had held Million March in Karachi on Al-Aqsa and also raised the issue in the parliament. However, he said that the political leadership in the country including the rulers was not prepared to raise this issue. He said if the Muslim rulers had considered the issues of Kashmir, Palestine, Burma and Bosnia as their issues, Kashmir and Palestine would have been liberated by now.

He said that the so-called Muslim rulers considering Washington as their guide were further dividing the Ummah on regional, ethnic and sectarian grounds only to remain in power. However, he said, there was awakening among the Ummah which was disturbing the ruling junta.

Holding the rulers responsible for all social, political and economic problems of the country, the JI chief said that ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could not establish a single standard hospital in the country during his prolonged rule where his wife could be treated.

Sirajul Haq said the JI had prepared an ambitious plan after consulting more than nine hundred Ph. D. holders for development in the fields of education, economy, agriculture, trade, energy and advanced technology and was mobilizing the youth for achieving the goal.
