NAB appointed Justice (retd) Shah Khawar as bureau’s special prosecutor

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Justice (retd) Shah Khawar has been appointed as special prosecutor of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The NAB issued a statement on Tuesday in this regard and informed that Shah Khawar was appointed by NAB as its special prosecutor.

Shah Khawar is a former judge of the Lahore High Court  and a senior advocate of the Supreme Court, adding that he also worked as the deputy attorney general and assistant advocate general.

Khawar will now represent NAB in all important cases currently under way, including the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case as it is under way in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Earlier, on December 9, NAB requested the adjournment of the proceedings until a new prosecutor general is appointed at the bureau.

The office of NAB prosecutor had been vacant since Waqas Qadeer Dar retired in November.
