NAB arrests ex-water and power secretary in Rental power case

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested the former Secretary of Water and Power, Shahid Rafi in a raid conducted at his home on Friday.

NAB sources told that the arrested Shahid Rafi has been detained over conducting illegal deals of rental power costing billion of rupees loss to National exchequer of Pakistan.

Shahid Rafi has been named in 11 references filed by the NAB in rental power case.

NAB raided former Water and Power Secretary’s home and also seized few important documents when they apprehended him.

It is reported that Shahid Rafi was transferred to NAB Rawalpindi office.

NAB will seek physical remand of ex-secretary Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO) after presenting him in the court tomorrow (April 20)

Former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is another accused in rental power case.

Raja Ashraf and other accused were directed by the court to appear before it on the aforesaid date for the indictment in the reference.
