NAB arrests three persons over Rs100m fraud in Balochistan health department

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested a government official and two other officials of private company after they found in corruption of over Rs 100 million in the Health Department of Balochistan.

The provincial Additional Director of Health Dr Muhammad Yousaf Bazenjo, who is responsible for the purchase of medicines and Dr Muhammad Nosherwan Yar Khan, the chief executive of a private company were among the arrested three persons in corruption involvement in purchase of stents for heart patients.

The NAB officials told that the investigation against the arrested were started after receiving several complaints from patients and citizens and they were accused of purchasing cardiac stents on high prices as Rs90,000-Rs,100,00 and in originally in was available on Rs16,000-Rs24,000. The accused were shifted to NAB regional headquarter for investigation.
