NAB decides to auction all properties of ex-premier Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to auction all the properties of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and for this NAB will file an application in the accountability court for the auction of properties.

Nawaz Sharif was declared a fugitive by the court in the Tosha Khana reference. NAB report maintained that according to the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Nawaz Sharif has shares in four companies.

“Nawaz Sharif owns 467,950 shares in Muhammad Bakhsh Textile Mills, 343,425 shares in Hudabia Paper Mills, 22,213 shares in Hudabia Engineering Company and owns 48,606 shares in Ittefaq Textile Mills,” NAB report said. Additional Deputy Commissioners of LDA, Lahore and Sheikhupura, Assistant Commissioner of Murree and Galyat Development Authority also reported that properties of Nawaz Sharif and his dependents are located in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Murree and Abbottabad, NAB report “Nawaz Sharif and dependents own Bungalow in Murree, 15 Kanal houses in Abbottabad’s Changla Gali and property on Upper Mall Lahore and owned over 1752 kanals of agricultural land.

The properties of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his dependents in Lahore are located in Mouza Manak includes 936 kanals, Mouza Baduksani includes 299 kanals of agricultural land, in Mouza Mall of Raiwind includes 103 kanals, Mouza Sultanke includes 312 kanals of land and in Mouza Mandiali of Sheikhupura district where Sharif family owns 14 kanals and Mouza Ferozotan includes 88 kanals of land.

“Nawaz Sharif has eight accounts including three foreign currencies accounts in various private banks. Mr. Nawaz Sharif has Rs 612,000 in five bank accounts,” NAB report further reads.

The local news channel reported that the foreign currency accounts of Nawaz Sharif contained 566 euros, $698 and 498 British pounds.
