NAB files intermediate reference in fake accounts case

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Wednesday filed the first intermediate reference in accountability court in fake accounts case against nine suspects of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

The NAB Rawalpindi has filed the reference against alleged accused including the close partner of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Yunus Kodavi and Karachi’s former administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed, former Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) metropolitan commissioner Matanat Ali Khan, Sami-ul-Din Siddiqui, Najam-ul-Zaman, Syed Khalid Zafar Hashmi, Syed Jamil Ahmed, Abdul Rasheed and Abdul Ghani.

The Registrar Office sent the reference to accountability court.

The reference was filed against accused allegedly involved in illegal allotment of welfare purposes plots causing losses to national treasury.

According to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference, accused illegally allotted library and temple plots and damaged national treasury.

Solid evidence against the suspects was available with NAB, so the court should punish the accused under NAB ordinance, NAB prayed the court.
