NAB to finalize corruption references against Nawaz family, Ishaq Dar today

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s executive board meeting is under way to finalize corruption references against the Nawaz Sharif family and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. NAB Chairman, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and other senior officials were present in the meeting.

The meeting was planned to be yesterday (Wednesday) but later it was delayed and decided to be held on  Thursday NAB prosecutor general office in Lahore.

After the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister on July 28 in Supreme Court in Panama case, NAB was directed to file several references against Nawaz, his children Hussain, Hasan, and Maryam, son-in-law MNA Capt (retd) Safdar and Ishaq Dar. SC had given six weeks time to NAB to file references against the Sharif family Ishaq Dar in Accountability courts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Local media reported that NAB informed the monitoring SC Jusitce Ijaz-ul-Hasan that bureau is going file references against Sharif family and Ishaq Dar on Friday.

Earlier in the week, NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry rejected recommendations of the Lahore and Rawalpindi Chief to freeze assets and putting the name of Sharif family and Ishaq Dar on ECL.
