NAB inquiry against Sharif family enters final phase

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) inquiry in case pertaining to assets beyond income against Sharif family has entered final phase. According to a private television channel report Sunday, more than 50 people including banking experts and officials of FBR, SECP and Sharif Group of Industries have recorded their statements against Sharif family.

The officials from private banks branches of Muslim Town, Cooper Road, Badami Bagh, Circular Road and Kot Lakhpat have also recorded their statement.

Those who have recorded their statements include labourer, vendors and employees of Sharif Group of Industries. Sharif Group of Industries Financial Officer Muhammad Usman, Chief Accountant Masroor Anwar have recorded their statements.

Sources said that Sharif Group of Industries’ Accountant Fazal Dad Abbasi, Qasim Qayyum, Asim Qayyum, Afzal Haider, Manzoor Ahmad and Masroor Anwar have recorded their statements, while the statements of Muhammad Younas, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Sharif Jutt, Muzzamil Raza, Syed Raza, Muhammad Haneef and Muhammad Shafiq are also part of the record.

Sources further said that the anti-graft watchdog has collected important evidence from the money transferred to Sharif family and more arrests could be made in light of the evidence.
