NAB raids Shehbaz Sharif’s house in Lahore to arrest Hamza

F.P. Report

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has raided the house of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif to arrest his son Hamza Shehbaz, on Friday.

Former minister and senior leader of PML-N Marryium Aurangzeb has confirmed the news that a seven to eight- member NAB team  carried out the raid at Shehbaz Sharif’s residence in Lahore without any warrant.

While talking to local private news channel, she said “Are Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shairf terrorist that NAB is carrying out raids like that”.

Marryium added that Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz and other family members were present inside the house when the raid was carried out.

The government was using NAB for its own purpose, she added.

According to reports, the NAB raided the residence as part of their investigation against Hamza Shehbaz.

The development came a day after government removed Shehbaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The former Punjab chief minister was due to leave for London to meet his ailing granddaughter.

The National Accountability Bureau said in a statement that a team was sent to arrest Hamza Shehbaz on the basis of solid evidence in cases related to assets beyond means and alleged money laundering.

The NAB said Hamza Shehbaz Sharif’s guards manhandled the team and tore their clothes besides giving death threats.

The statement accused Hamza Shehbaz of violating law.

NAB said it would arrest Hamza Shehbaz in the light of Supreme Court orders and also vowed to take action against those who interfered during NAB action.

While commenting on the issue, Punjab government spokesman, Shehbaz Gill said the provincial government has no information about the raid.

He said the NAB was an independent body which is doing its own job.

The NAB said its team had to face resistance during the raid.
