NAB’s executive board approves inquiry against Nawaz, Imran, others

ISLAMABAD: The executive board meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approved inquiries and investigations into alleged malpractices by noted politicians and other individuals.

The NAB’s executive board meeting was held in Islamabad on Monday. The meeting was presided over by NAB chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.

The NAB’s executive board gave approval to Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment supplementary references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The supplementary references had already been filed in the accountability court.

The meeting also approved to initiate investigation against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for allegedly using Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government helicopter.

According to a NAB spokesperson, the board also gave approval to start inquiry against Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for allegedly transferring suspected funds.

The NAB’s executive board also approved to initiate investigation against Ahad Cheema, administration of Paragon City. The board also approved to start an inquiry against PPP Senator Usman Saifullah.

The Board also gave approval to start investigation against former finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Anusha Rehman, chairman PTA Dr Ismail, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak and chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
