TIMERGARA: Vice Chancellor, University of Malakand Prof Dr Rehmat Ali has said that due to emerging trends and scientific research in the field of Pharmacy life expectancy was increasing because of improved health technology. He was addressing the concluding session of a three day national conference jointly arranged by the department of pharmacy, university of Malakand and Higher Education Commission at the main campus Chakdara here on Wednesday.
Academicians, researchers and pharmacists from all over Pakistan participated in the conference.
Prof Dr Jamshid Iqbal, Prof Dr Mir Azam Khan, Dr Tawous Khan, Dr Wiqar Ahmad and Dr Zafar Iqbal also addressed the conference.
The speakers said that due to modern research and discoveries in the field of pharmacy, fatal diseases were being overcome. They said that improved health technology and research had declined mortality ratio in children and death rate in adults. The speakers said that life expectancy had also increased.
The UoM vice chancellor Prof Dr Rehmat Ali announced that the varsity had planned to host an international pharmacy conference this year.
During the conference posters’ composition competition was also held in which Taseer Ahmad of the COMSAT University Abbotabad got first position, Ashfaq Ahmad of the University of Malakand got second and Naveera Navid of the COMSAT University Abbotabad got third position. The chief guest, vice chancellor UoM Prof Dr Rehmat Ali distributed shields and cash prizes among the position holders on the occasion.
