PANJSHIR: The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan delivered supplies to Afghan police forces in Panjshir and Parwan provinces of Afghanistan in a bid to help the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

“Afghan National Police in #Panjshir and #Parwan Provinces received supplies to battle the COVID19 epidemic and stop the spread with assistance from NATO’s Resolute Support mission, April 9,” the Resolute Support mission said in a statement.

The statement further “ANDSF partners are distributing these supplies to more than 3,000 police officers across both provinces so they can protect themselves while providing security for eastern Afghanistan.”

According to Resolute Support mission, the shipment included nearly 7,000 disposable masks, more than 8,300 pairs of gloves, cleaning supplies and other personal protective equipment (PPE).

“Resolute Support continues to provide assistance and support for our Afghan security partners and we stand behind them as they ensure security for the Afghan people,” the statement added.

This comes as the Ministry of Public Health announced Saturday it has so far recorded 933 positive cases of COVID-19 in various provinces. (Khaama Press)
