Nawaz insistent to get treatment abroad: Samsam Bukhari

F.P. Report

LAHORE: ‘Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif says he will get himself treated from a foreign hospital after getting a bail’, said Punjab Minister for Information, Samsam Bukhari, on Friday.

According to the minister, Nawaz Sharif is adamant to get a treatment from abroad. “Sharif has made this statement before Punjab government spokesperson Shahbaz Gill and a senior journalist,” said Bukhari.

The information minister said the government was ready but Nawaz Sharif was not willing to get a treatment from any of the hospitals in the country.

“I am making this clarification so that the government should not be blamed in this connection,” the minister added.

He termed all reports regarding non-provision of facilities to Nawaz as fake, “we are ready to provide all services to him, but he wants a treatment abroad,” Samsam Bukhari said.

Bukhari on March 19 had said the government never stopped family of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif from meeting him in jail.

The minister said the manual of jail was strictly being implemented. He said Nawaz Sharif was trying to pressurize the government to move out of the country. “In the last two weeks, Sharif met his numerous friends and as well as the family members,” the minister said.

He, however, added that the permission to go abroad could only be given by the court.
