Nawaz likely to return home tonight

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will likely to return to Pakistan tonight and to appear before the accountability court for his corruption hearing on Friday.

Nawaz on Tuesday requested people to pray for his wife Kulsoom, who was undergoing her chemotherapy session in London. Nawaz reached London on October 4 to see her ailing wife as she was suffering throat cancer.

NAB had filed corruption references against the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his children, Marayam, Hasan and Hussain Nawaz and in the last hearing, on October 9, the accountability court approved the bail of Maryam and Safdar after they appeared in court.

The accountability court also approved the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) appeal to declare Nawaz’s sons, Hasan and Hussain, proclaimed offenders and separated their proceedings in the three references filed against them.

The court also approved Nawaz’s counsel Khawaja Harris’s request to approve his client’s exemption from appearance for that date only.

The court set October 13 (tomorrow) date on which Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Safdar will be indicted.
