Nawaz, Maryam heads to London to see ailing Begum Kulsoom

LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz left for London on Wednesday to visit ailing Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

According to family spokesman, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was again admitted in the hospital on Tuesday after her health condition was not good and she was feeling problems.

Begum Kulsoom was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.

A spokesman of Sharif family told that both the father and daughter will return to Pakistan on April 22.

Maryam Nawaz said that they will return before the next hearing of corruption case against them if the exemption was not granted to them by the court.

It is to mention here that as many as three corruption references had been filed against the Sharif family, on the directives of the top court which pertain to the Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Establishment, offshore companies including Flagship Investment Ltd, and Avenfield properties of London.

On Tuesday, the accountability court adjourned the hearing of Avenfield case until April 20 and Al-Azizia Steel Mills case until April 23.
