Nawaz Sharif shows resentment over Imran’s acquittal in SSP torture case

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif has said that those who worked for the development of the country are attending the court in fake cases and those who were involved in activities against the state are receiving acquittal certificates without even giving appearance in the case.

Nawaz Sharif said this while talking to media persons outside the accountability court on Friday. Former premier showed anger over the acquittal of PTI Chief Imran Khan in SSP Asmatullah torture case during the 2014 sit-in in Islamabad.

Nawaz Sharif said that now Imran Khan realized his political importance after Lahore rally that’s he is talking about delay in elections.

Meanwhile, Daughter of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz also criticized the Imran Khan’s acquittal and termed it the order was prepared from the top authority to give a clean chit to their political rivals.

Earlier today, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) acquitted Imran Khan in SSP Asmatullah Junejo’s torture case due to lack of evidence against him.
