ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Sunday that the political careers of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari have come to an end.
The federal minister was speaking to media and said “one from the duo is in jail while the other will be soon”.
While criticizing the former prime minister, Chaudhry said that Nawaz’s trial was strange as he went to London during it as well and his younger brother Shehbaz Sharif is in prison on paper but is living in his home.
He further said that these people have made National Accountability Bureau bend to their will.
In relation to the recent clamp down on politicians and others in money laundering case, Fawad Chaudhry had reiterated earlier that the government is sticking to the demand of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah’s resignation.
The information minister said that the NAB will investigate regarding Murad Ali Shah.
The names are placed on the Exit Control List not because of designations but on the basis of character, said the minister, while referring to those who have been put on the no-fly list due to the ongoing investigation.
