LAHORE: PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz on Friday said the planned surgery of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Maryam, responding to a tweet in which a follower had asked her about an update on Nawaz’s health, said her father was a high risk patient and, therefore, precautionary measures were a must.
She also asked everyone to remember him in their prayers during the holy month of Ramazan. Separately, Maryam said May 1 was the day to salute all those whose work made the lives of everyone to move forward.
It was the labourers who were most affected by the coronavirus, she said while reminding the people that the best of all actions was to remove the pain of those created by Almighty Allah.
In connection with the International Workers’ Day, Maryam, who is the political heir of Nawaz, also paid tributes to those who are performing their duties amid the pandemic and serving the humanity.
