MUMBAI: Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte are two actors who have bowled us over time and again with their on screen performances. The two, who have shared screen space in Badlapur and Manjhi: The Mountain Man, will be reuniting for Honey Trehan’s directorial debut Raat Akeli Hai.
A source close to the film told a leading daily, “The Kanpur-based story has Nawaz playing an investigative officer who is working on a high profile case. That is when his character meets Radhika, a rich girl from a small town. The film will also be shot in Lucknow and Gwalior and will wrap up on March 25.” Shweta Tripathi, who is the latest addition to the cast, confirmed the news about playing a pivotal part in Raat Akeli Hai and said, “Acting alongside Nawaz bhai is a learning experience. He is a master of the craft and makes you look good by just being in the same frame as you.”
Raat Akeli Hai is set in 1980s and narrates the journey of a cop from a police-in training to a class one officer.
