Naya Pakistan Housing Program to be launched today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch the Naya Pakistan Housing Program on Wednesday (today).

According to details, in the first phase 135,000 housing units will be built across the country under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program. For government employees around 25,000 apartments will be built in Islamabad and similarly, 110,000 apartments will be constructed in Balochistan for fishermen of Gwadar.

Earlier, Secretary Housing Imran Zeb Khan told that in the first phase of NPHP said the Housing Ministry would be signing an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Government of Balochistan for various housing projects in Quetta (5000 apartments in Wahdat Colony), Gwadar (55,000 apartments), Fisher Colony (54,000 apartments) and other places of the province.

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 3,000 units would be constructed whereas 19,000 units.

Special segments, including widows, orphans, transgenders, martyrs’ families and people living in war-against-terror hit areas would be given priority under the house financing scheme, he added.

The registration process for the Naya Pakistan Housing Program began on October 22.
