Nazim resigns to contest elections

PESHAWAR: District Nazim Mardan Himayat Ullah Mayar along with six district council members tendered resignation from their offices to contest the up-coming general elections.

District Naib Nazim Asad Ali assumed the charge of District Nazim. Other district assembly members who resigned included opposition leader Malik Shaukat, Abdus Sattar of PTI, Umer Farooq Kaka Khel, Adel Nawaz, Sadia Mayar and Naeema Naz. Later, in a chat with news men Himayat Mayar said that he remain District Nazim for two year nine months and eleven days and completed scores of developmental projects in the district.

Himayat Mayar has been fielded by ANP to contest the election from PK-51 Mardan.

Similary, the other members who resigned from district membership are also contesting election for the KP and NA elections from other political parties.
