According to Nepra notification, the Qesco was fined Rs10 million for failing to control the electrocution incidents in the city. It said that as many as 15 people were electrocuted during a period between July 2019 and June 2021.

The regulatory authority constituted a 2-member committee to probe the deaths and the body found that Qesco was responsible for 4 deaths out of 15.
