New block in district council inaugurated

PESHAWAR: City District Nazim, Muhammad Asim Khan on Thursday inaugurated construction of new block in District Nazim Office with total cost of Rs 30 million.

While issuing a news statement, the spokesman of City District Government, said the new block will consist of two floors and the rest of construction work will be completed soon. After the local government polls in provincial city, there was only a district council hall and office, secretariat for Naib Nazim while after 2002, no construction work had taken place at Nazim’s  office.

Naib Nazim Syed Qasim Ali Shah, Muhammad Shoaib Bangash, Naib Nazim Town I, district council members and others were also in attendance on the occasion. As the City District Nazim formally inaugurated the new block aimed at creating vacuum for officials working without offices in secretariat.

Speaking on the occasion, M. Asim said that local bodies are the nursery of democratic system and it further strengthens democracy.

He clearly said that endeavors are underway to facilitate the masses and resolve their issues at door step. The construction of new block will help decreasing problems of officials.
