KABUL: The Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced that new officials have assumed charge in key positions of the Ministry of Defense and Afghan Air Force.
According to a statement released by Ministry of Defense, the commander of Special Operations Corps Gen. Bismillah Waziri has been appointed as new Chief of Staff of the Afghan Army.
The statement further added that Dr. Yasin Zia has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense based on the new appointments. The Ministry of Defense also added that Gen. Fahim Ramin has been appointed as the Commander of Afghan Air Force.
The defense ministry has not disclosed further information regarding the new appointments.
The Ministry of Defense on Monday announced that Gen. Haibatullah Alizai has been appointed as new Chief of Operation of the ministry.
According to a statement released by Ministry of Defense, Gen. Alizai will focus on three key areas as Chief of Operations.
The statement further added that Gen. Alizai will focus on minimizing casualties of Afghan National Army, building solid coordination especially in Battalion and Company levels, and turning tide on the enemy by going full offensive. (Khaama Press)
