New Zealand defeat England by an innings and 49 runs in Auckland test

AUCKLAND: New Zealand defeated England by an innings and 49 runs in the 1st test of the series which was played at Auckland.

It was the 10th time in the history of 102 test played between New Zealand and England that the Kiwis beat the opponent.

England scored 58 runs in the first innings of the match after Trent Boult and Tim Southee bowled brilliantly by taking six and four wickets respectively.

In reply New Zealand scored 427 for the loss of eight wickets and declared the innings after Kim Williamson scored 102 and HM Nocholis scored 145runs.

In the second innings England batted reasonably well but the Kiwis bowler didn’t allow them to safe the match and bowled them out on 320 runs. Trent Boult was declared man of the match for his outstanding bowling.
