PESHAWAR: The family of Asma Rani, a medical student who was killed in Kohat, Monday demanded capital punishment for killer, asserting that no apology of the accused Mujahid would be accepted.
Addressing a press conference in Kohat, the brother of Asma Rani said the Mujahid’s family was influencing his family for arbitration besides threatening them through different means, adding that he would not negotiate with killer of his sister.
He said Asma Rani told name of her killer before death at the hospital. The killer should be given capital punishment, he added.
He urged the judiciary to shift the case to Peshawar for further proceeding as the Mujahid’s family was very influential and was exerting pressure on him and his family.
He said accused Mujahid killed his sister through a planning, adding that he came Pakistan on January 23 and after getting complete information about his sister, he killed him on January 27 in front of his house.
It is to mention that the prime accused in Asma Rani murder case, Mujahidullah Afridi was deported to Pakistan on Saturday after he was arrested in Dubai with the help of Interpol after two months when he murdered the medical student Asma Rani in Kohat and fled the country.
A statement of the slain Asma Rani was recorded by police in hospital before she succumbed to her wounds. Investigations into the murder have revealed that the prime suspect, Mujahid Afridi had killed a man in Kohat six month prior to killing Asma Rani.
District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwat told media that other day that the man’s family had settled the matter with Afridi hence there was no police case.
