No change in khatam e Nabowat law acceptable, declare religious scholars

TIMERGARA:  Speakers of a conference held here at Timergara on Sunday demanded of the federal and provincial government to include contents about finality of the Prophet hood in school curriculum in order to inform the new generation of the basic belief of ‘khatam e Nabowat’.  The first ‘khatam e Naowat’ conference was arranged by Aalami Majlas Tahaffuz e Khatam e Nabowat (AMTKN) Lower Dir chapter at the Timergara rest house ground. Hundreds od social and political activists besides area elders attended the conference. The AMTKN Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief Mufti Shahab ud Din Popalzai, prominent religious scholar Maulana Qazi Ihsanullah, district emir Maulana Imran Khan, press secretary Muhsin Mehmood Mubarakzai, Maulana Fazal Wahab and others addressed the gathering. The speakers said the nation would never accept any change in the ‘khatam e Nabowat’ law in the country.

“Ahmadis under a planned conspiracy are destabilizing the state but we will not make them succeed,” Mufti Popalzai said, adding that Ahmadis had become security risk in Pakistan.

The other speakers said that Ahmadis had been declared non-Muslims in the country due to their refusal of finality of Prophet hood. They demanded of the government to take notice of negative activities of Ahmadis. They said that all Pakistanis would fight for safeguarding the ‘khatam e Nabowat’ law in the country and would never bow against any world power in that connection.

The speakers also demanded of the government to pin point the person involved in changing the oath wording for members of the assemblies. The district political leadership from the JUI-F, JI, PPP, ANP, PTI and PML-N also participated in the conference.

Power Meters: The Jamaat-i-Islami Balambat chapter on Sunday complained that the Pesco authorities have replaced the old functional power meters installed at homes due to which the consumers were unable to pay their bills according to the newly installed meters.

The JI Balambat emir Majidullah, Zahoor Ahmad, Maulana Zakirullah and Maulana Abu Kaleem while speaking at a news conference here demanded of the government and concerned authorities of Pesco to stop replacing the old electricity meters in the area. They said the new meters run very fast and it had been charging consumers even on recharging their mobile phone sets.

They said that majority of the consumers belonged to poor families and they were unable to afford inflated bills. They threatened to come on the roads if their demand was not met.
