No party will be able to form govt without PPP: Gilani

F.P. Report

MULTAN : Stressing the need for dispelling the impression that the next general elections to be held on February 8, 2024 would be ‘controversial’, former prime minister and senior PPP leader Syed Yousaf Raza Gilsani said on Sunday that all political parties should be provided a ‘level playing field’ as they make preparations for the polls.

Addressing a press conference in Multan, he said it was the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold free and fair elections.

He further said he did not think that the PPP could be subtracted from the setup that would take shape after the elections. “There would be a coalition government,” he said adding “no party will be able to form the government without the PPP.”

The former prime minister said that the party was contesting the elections on the basis of its performance.
