We are not afraid of facing courts: Maryam Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, has said that they know what is her crime and why we are targeting.

She said this to media persons after appearing before the accountability court, where her husband MNA Captain (Retd) Sardar was also present to face the corruption references filed against them.

MNA Safdar was arrested when he and his wife Maryam Nawaz arrived from London last night to face the court in corruption references.

Maryam said that they are not afraid from arresting and we will face the revenge on the name of accountability.

People will continue raising questions and judges have to answer when a case over Panama papers were ended on iqama, she added.

The accountability court approved the Safdar’s bail and ordered him to submit surety bonds of Rs 50 million and also informed the court before leaving the country.

The court provided a copy of reference to Maryam and Safdar and Judge Muhammad Bashir directed her to submit Rs 5 million surety bond.

Earlier, Maryam reached the accountability court to appear and face the corruption reference filed against her and other Sharif family members.

Nawaz’s counsel, Khawaja Harris, requested the court to approve his client’s exemption from as Nawaz is in London at the time tending to his wife who is undergoing medical treatment. Harris also submitted Kulsoom’s medical report in court in this regard.

The court approved the exemption plea and adjourned the hearing until October 13.
