TIMERGARA: Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazl chief Maulana Fazal Rehman has said America wished to change geo-political structure of Pakistan under its planned conspiracy and for this purpose it was dividing the Muslim ummah.
He was talking to local journalists after condoling on the death of Malik Hasham Khan at Ouch Lower Dir here the other day. Malik Ajab Khan, a leader of the JUI-F and former MPA Malik Hasham Khan was killed along with his uncle Malik Ajab Khan and friend Bakht Zarin by unknown assailants on Sep, 14.
The JUI-F chief visited the hujra of Malik Hasham Khan and offered fateha for the departed souls. The JUI-F provincial chief Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Malik Sanaullah and other area elders were also present. Maulana Fazal Rehman termed the death of Hasham Khan a great loss for the party and said he was severely aggrieved on hearing about it.
The Maulana said his party had been following a national agenda and wished political leadership to realize the situation sensibly. “It is high time for political leadership to think seriously and work for national interests,” he said, adding all the parties should think about Pakistan’s future. “We are not against the merger of Fata and KP but want tribal people to be taken on board before deciding their future,” the Maulana added.
Employees protest: The class IV employees working in different government hospitals in Lower Dir on Monday observed a token strike by wearing black arms’ bands in protest against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for not accepting their demands.
The protesting employees were demanding health professional allowance. Speaking on the occasion leaders of the protesters Noorullah, Peer Zada, Mujib ur Rehman and others said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had approved health professional allowance for doctors and paramedics but ignored the poor class IV employees performing duties at hospitals.
They said the Sindh government had announced Rs 10,000 as professional allowance for class IV. They said the JI chief Siraj ul Haq and provincial minister for finance Muzafar Syed had promised them to announce the allowance but to no avail. The speakers said that all class IV employees would start protest campaign, boycotting their duties at hospital if the government failed to accept their demand.
Pharmacy conference: A three day national conference on “Emerging Trends in Pharmaceutical Science” arranged by pharmacy department began at the University of Malakand on Monday.
Academicians, researchers and pharmacist from throughout Pakistan are participating in the conference. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the chief guest Prof Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Vice Chancellor Abbot Abad University of science and Technology (AUST) stressed on the goals oriented research and called upon the participants to train their students so they can cater the upcoming challanges .
The Vice chancellor University of Malakand Dr Rehmat Ali said would prove a way forward to deal with contemporary patterns and challenges in the field of pharmacy
The main objective of this conference is to provide a platform where young researchers can present their research work and also interact with senior researchers. Chief organizer Dr Waqar praised the role and contribution of young professional in the field.
