Not worried about no-trust move, says CM Jam Kamal

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal said on Wednesday he did not care about the no-confidence motion, the opposition in the provincial assembly has submitted against him.

In a tweet, Jam Kamal said, “If my party and allies stand by me, then I have no worries.”

And the day, he added, they abandoned him, he would himself leave the office without anybody asking him for that. “Because in that case I will have no right to remain the head of Balochistan Assembly,” CM Kamal added.

A day earlier, a no-trust motion against Balochistan Chief Minister Jamal Kamal had been filed in the assembly secretariat. The motion was submitted on behalf of 16 lawmakers from opposition parties.

Reportedly, differences between groups of Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and Chief Minister Jam Kamal have been intensifying for quite some time.

The tension escalated last month when Bizenjo made remarks against Jam and expressed reservations during Assembly proceedings. His action prompted a strong reaction from the incumbent members of the provincial government.

CM Kamal called a meeting of his allies to take action against the speaker and bring a no-confidence motion against him. In a statement, the chief minister said: “He (the assembly speaker) should pay attention to his constituency where he has not visited even once in three years. Anyone who can’t run their own constituency or Assembly should keep their childish advice to himself and focus on his work instead.”
