NPC okays 48 procurement cases having a total value of 11.8b Afg

KABUL: The National Procurement Commission has approved 48 procurement related items (cases) having a total value of 11.8 billion Afghanis, the Office of the President said.

According to a statement released by ARG Palace, the meeting of the National Procurement Commission was organized on Sunday evening and was chaired by President Mohamamd Ashraf Ghani during which 50 procurement related items were reviewed and 48 of them were approved.

The statement further added that some of the main contracts approved during the meeting include procurement of 129,400 liters of fuel based on a request by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology and procurement of armored vehicles for procurement departments.

The Kabul Municipality also presented the new solicitation in consideration with the verbal instruction of President Mohamamd Ashraf Ghani to finalize the procurement process of road constructions as per the procurement process of World Bank, the statement by ARG Palace said, adding that the contracts include construction and asphalt work of 3.96 kilometers of road and drain systems (LOT 12) consisting of 1.15 kilometers of connective road from Qargha to Company road from Spin Kalai square, construction of 1.32 kilometers of road from 5th police district to Spin Kalai square, construction of 0.92 kilometer road from Qargha to 5th police district, and construction of 0.25 kilometer road from 5th police district to Company area.

The meeting approved the solicitation and award of the contract to Chakaria Company.

According to ARG Palace, the meeting also approved the extension of certain contracts and reviewed the report regarding the realization of the previous decisions of the National Procurement Commission. (Khaama Press)
